Made a cameo at the Belve party!

Last week a very good friend of mine, artist & songwriting extraodinaire Mistah Chris Classic, hosted the Belvedere Vodka "Influence Series" at the Thompson Hotel. If you are somehow unfamiliar with just who Chris Classic is, you may want to find out! (click his name...Duh!)

Chris was gracious enough to invite lil'ol Vee to the event and I'm so glad I went! I had a blast!...got my drank AND dance on and got reacquainted with some bizniz associates I'd lost touch with. Here's a few pics from the evening!

"For colored girls"

Ok, so over the weekend I went to the movies wit my bestie to see Tyler Perry's "For colored girls". Now, since the premier, I've read mostly bad reviews from critics (of course! Haters!) pulling the race card and saying that the women in the film were trying too hard to gain Oscar nods and yada yada...but I heard great reviews from all the women I know. After seeing it for myself, I must say that I thought it was very powerful and very beautifully done. The way Perry incorporated the poetry into the script was perfect! THAT is what stood out most to me! THAT was the powerful aspect of the film in itself in my opinion.

It just makes sense!

As some of you may know, I started a blog based on one of my alter ego's "Subway gurl", sharing my crazy stories from the gritty trains of NYC. It was fun for a while but, it seems like as soon as I started the blog, all the crazy shit that used to happen to me stopped! Maybe because my foot was healed (from my bunion surgery last year) and I wasn't so mean and bitchy on the trains anymore?...I don't know! But for whateva reason the craziness died down, hence, my lack of posts to that blog lately. I've also been working on a fashion blog which I planned to debut by now, but I still haven't quite figured out exactly how I want to present it, so in the mean time I'm just gonna start blogging about my everyday life...period! ALL the crazy shit that happens to me, interactions with my fam, friends and frenemies, my love for music and fashion, my quest to leave white collar America in 'pursuit of happiness' doing what I love...(MUZIK! DUH!)...all rolled into one blog...for now at least. Who knows what the future holds! Anyhoo...MIZZJACK IZ BACK BITCHES!
